Cessna mechanic faces charges for trying to sell parts on eBay.

WICHITA, KS - A mechanic at Cessna Aircraft is charged with stealing airplane parts from the company and trying to sell them on eBay.

Federal prosecutors charged 31-year-old Diego Alejandro Paz Teran, of Wichita, on Friday. They say the investigation began in November after an employee of a Rockwell Collins Co. distributor saw an aircraft computer for sale on eBay for $9,000. The part is worth about $45,000.

Authorities say investigators found other stolen aircraft parts being sold on the same eBay account and followed records to a Wichita home.

If convicted, Teran faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
