Timco and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Form Aircraft Maintenance Joint Venture

Venture to provide maintenance services to commercial aircraft operators in India and neighboring region.

GREENSBORO, NC -- Timco Aviation Services and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited have entered into a new joint venture agreement focused on developing comprehensive airframe MRO services to commercial air transport operators in India and the neighboring region.

The partners plan state-of-the-art airframe MRO facilities at HAL's Bangalore airport and manufacturing complex. Efforts will focus on providing scheduled C-checks and heavy maintenance services for operators of narrowbody Airbus and Boeing commercial aircraft. The parties have fully ratified their JV relationship and are assessing ground breaking schedule alternatives with a focus on the shifting growth outlook for the Indian and regional fleets.

HAL has 19 production units and 10 research and design centers in seven locations across India. The company manufactures 12 types of aircraft developed in-house, and has produced another 14 under license. Its MRO capabilities support a wide range of military and civil fleet types, and cover everything from engine overhauls to state-of-the-art composite repairs. HAL has manufactured more than 3,550 aircraft and 3,600 engines, and it has overhauled more than 8,150 aircraft and 27,300 engines.

Timco provides fully integrated MRO services for commercial and government aircraft operators at its corporate complex in Greensboro, NC, as well as at facilities in Macon, GA, and Lake City, FL. Through its Timco Aerosystems division, the company provides fully integrated aircraft interior design, manufacturing, and certification services. Timco's Brice Seating company designs, engineers, and produces a full line of aircraft seating and PMA parts. Customers are also supported by an engine MRO center and a line maintenance operation at airports throughout the U.S.
