Dallas, Texas … May 12, 2009 … BBA Aviation’s Engine Repair and Overhaul (ERO) company H+S Aviation has received test cell approval and completed all technician training for the repair and overhaul of Hamilton Sundstrand T40-1 APU.

“Test cell correlation went smoothly and all the necessary tooling and training are in place for complete in-house support of the T40-1,” stated H+S Aviation Managing Director, Chris Head.

H+S Aviation was appointed an Authorized Repair Facility by Hamilton Sundstrand in January 2009. The T40-1 APU is featured on Sikorsky Blackhawk and Seahawk helicopters which also use General Electric T700 turboshaft engines for main propulsion. “The addition of the T40-1 augments our existing GE T700 authorization so that we can offer a complete package of engine repair and overhaul services to operators of Blackhawk and Seahawk helicopters,” commented Head.

There are more than 2,000 T700 powered Blackhawk and Seahawk helicopters in operation around the world, many of them using the 90 SHP T40-1 as an APU. H+S Aviation services the T40-1 at its Portsmouth, England repair and overhaul facility.
