Trent 1000 will be lead engine on the first four Boeing 787 test aircraft.

The first on wing, ground test engine run of the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000, that will power the inaugural flight of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, took place on May 21, 2009. The ground test took place at the Boeing facility in Everett in the United States.

"The Trent 1000 is ready to go and this marks an important step on the road to first flight for the 787 Dreamliner," says Andy Geer, Rolls-Royce Chief Engineer for the Trent 1000.

The Trent 1000 will feature as lead engine on the first four Boeing 787 test aircraft that will undertake an extensive flight test program immediately following first flight later in the year.
