Airbus Rules Out Electricity-Supply Fault in Crash

Airbus SAS, manufacturer of the Air France plane that crashed in the Atlantic Ocean near Brazil, ruled out a loss of electrical power on the A330 as investigations focus on whether airspeed sensors were faulty.

There were no indications of instrument display problems on Flight 447, which went down June 1, and automated messages were transmitted until the last minute, Stefan Schaffrath, an Airbus spokesman, said today by telephone. Hours after the crash, Air France CEO Pierre Henri Gourgeon spoke of multiple system failures that appeared to result from the chain of events that led to the disaster.
