Missing Indian Air Force Plane Found

NEW DELHI, INDIA — The wreckage of an Indian Air Force transport aircraft was found Wednesday, one day after it went missing over the forest-clad mountains of the eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh, news reports said. At least 12 defense personnel, including the crew in the aircraft, were feared dead, the PTI news agency reported, citing police in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

A radio message received at the police district headquarters at Aalo confirmed the wreckage had been found near Rinchi hill close to the Chinese border, police said.

The wreck was found by search teams of the Indian Army and border police.
