Piaggio Aero looks and performs differently from your average turbojet. Piaggio’s Web site states that its “P180 Avanti II combines elegant Made-in-Italy style, the quietness and comfort of a spacious cabin, and remarkable performance that is similar to (and in some cases exceeds) that of the most widely sold turbojet aircraft on the market. And all this comes with operating costs that are up to 40 percent lower than jet aircraft of equivalent size.” Along with the Avanti II, Piaggio offers the P166 DP1, which is a light utility aircraft used for several operational purposes. Piaggio Aero Industries currently manufactures parts and performs maintenance, repair and overhaul operations on many aero engines.
