Flight Design USA appoints Flight Design West as the new western states distributor for the importer of the best-selling Light-Sport Aircraft, the Flight Design CT series.

South Woodstock, CONNECTICUT / July 2009 - Flight Design USA has announced the appointment of Flight Design West as the new western states distributor for the importer of the best-selling Light-Sport Aircraft, the Flight Design CT series. Flight Design West is based in Las Vegas, Nevada, and is managed by its president, Scott Anderson. The distributor has teamed with two general aviation veterans to complete its service center and sales operations: Kenny Scherado, president of Lone Mountain Aviation will be in charge of the warranty, technical and assembly center and Mark Rogers, director of sales of Lone Mountain Aircraft Sales, will be in charge of enlisting dealers and flight training.

"Congratulations and welcome aboard," said John Gilmore, national sales manager for Flight Design USA! "We are pleased to add Flight Design West to support and develop a strong dealer channel. We realize that a long established company in general aviation is what the Light Sport industry needs during the 5th year anniversary of this new aviation segment. This newly formed group understands that the Light-Sport segment of General Aviation is a great entry into aviation training and a useful tool for those interested in fast economical, VFR personal travel." Gilmore indicated that Flight Design West will begin by handling Nevada, California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. "We look forward to this new group as the model for providing premier services along with an inventory of new CTLS aircraft just as they do now with Cirrus and Mooney," added Gilmore.

"We are ready to offer premier sales, training, and maintenance for buyers of the new Flight Design aircraft. I'm thrilled that we will be offering such a useful tool for personal travel that provides a level of sophistication normally found in larger, more complex and expensive aircraft, at prices under $150,000." said Scott Anderson, President of Flight Design West. "We want to be a part of the future of aviation. We will be working with existing dealers in the western states and seeking to establish new representatives," said Anderson.

Lone Mountain Aviation, Inc., the service arm of Flight Design West, has been active in servicing general aviation for 35 years. Based in Las Vegas, Nevada, "Lone Mountain is the West Coast Regional Supercenter for Cirrus Aircraft," said Kenny Scherado, its president. The company is also a certified center for Cessna, Mooney, and Pilatus. "We are a full-service composite and avionics shop. Our mechanics have been trained and certified by Flight Design and we are excited to be part of the growing light sport industry," Scherado said.

Mark Rogers noted, "Lone Mountain Aircraft Sales will be handling sales in Nevada and coordinating the dealer network throughout the west. I feel that the Flight Design CT series deserves its rating as the number one light sport aircraft and I'm excited to be part of the sales effort."

Gilmore advised customers may begin contacting Flight Design West, as can prospective dealers. He suggested the following contact methods: Telephone 888-LONE-MTN (566-3686) Mark Rogers and email to: [email protected].

Flight Design USA is the U.S. importer of the CT series from Germany. The company has succeeded in delivering more than 300 aircraft to its American network of distributors and dealers. One of the first Light-Sport Aircraft certified under ASTM standards, the carbon fiber CT is the best-selling LSA in America. Approximately 1,300 CT models are flying around the globe.
