SGI Aviation Acquires Thrust Aerospace Services

Thrust has brought significant cost efficiencies to the handling of aircraft technical publications for maintenance organizations.

McKinney, TX, 10 August 2009: SGI Aviation, a leading independent technical advisor to the global airline and aviation industry, has acquired McKinney, Texas-based Thrust Aerospace Services Inc, providers of professional services and software solutions to the aerospace sector.

The addition of Thrust Aerospace to the SGI portfolio will greatly benefit our organisation and broaden our professional services and software offerings to the aviation industry, said Martin Wills, chief executive of SGI Aviation, with its world headquarters in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

He added: Thrust Aerospace is an industry leader in providing cost effective, quick-to-implement and easy-to-use products to airline technical divisions and maintenance organisations. Products are based on technologies using Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) and Extensible Markup Language (XML). Thrust has brought significant cost efficiencies to the handling of aircraft technical publications and desktop publishing and, with the backing and support of SGI's broader business organisation, will expand its business operations outside of the U.S. market.

Thrust provides a collection of applications, web-based, document management systems, multi-format delivery platforms, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) compliance management systems and maintenance programme management tools. Services include documents and data conversion, technical authoring, component maintenance manual management, Air Transport Oversight System (ATOS) consulting, aircraft bridging, policy and procedure development and MSG-3 maintenance program development or optimization.

Thrust currently provides hosting and delivery for over 325,000 pages of aircraft and engine technical data for American Eagles internal and external users.
