Burnsville, MN – August 10, 2009 - Aerosim Technologies, has opened an office in London to better support its customers in Europe, The Middle East and Africa. The office is located at Capital Place on Bath Road in London.

The use and understanding of Glass and Automation is the number one training issue for today‘s airline operations within the Global Airspace. Aerosim works with over 100 commercial airlines worldwide as the recognized leader in low cost, hi-fidelity simulation-based software training products within the aviation industry.

“A modern airliner’s glass flight deck has become highly advanced and integrated, making accurate training in glass and automation absolutely essential and critical according to industry experts like LOSA and we are thrilled to have the best selling software training product in the industry to assist with this training challenge,” said Joseph Hartmann, Director of Sales at Aerosim Technologies. “The recognition of this software has prompted us to open this new office to support our customers internationally.”

LOSA (Line Operations Safety Audit) is a Human Factors Research project that originated in 1990 at The University of Texas with the support of the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. It is recommended by the FAA, and other leading industry organizations like ICAO and IATA. A contingent objective is to discover trends in handling human errors and factors that trigger human errors within each airline by analyzing and evaluating results of the monitoring. Over a five (5) year period of data gathering and analysis, LOSA reports the prime threat and error is the human interaction with glass and automation of a modern aircraft flight deck.

The Aerosim FMST is a PC-based training device that allows students to perform pre-flight and in-flight FMS, autopilot, EFIS and navigation procedures while operating in a true free-play train¬ing environment. All required avionics are fully integrated, while aerodynamics and engine models offer the capability to set the thrust, flaps, slats, speed brakes and gear to allow for a genuine experience within the aircraft’s operating envelope. Taking this training one step further to include full systems training, Aerosim offers the Virtual Flight Deck™ (VFD™) which allows the student to dynamically scan, view and manipulate all panels, controls, indicators and displays within the flight deck. The VFD™ allows for training in operations with modern airliner’s glass flight deck, human interaction with real-time simulation for every aircraft system in a complete free-play training environment.
