Riverside, CA – The Wathen Foundation and Flabob Airport will host a one-day Veteran’s Day celebration on November 7th. The day’s activities will begin at 9:00 and run throughout the day. Included on the schedule are fly-overs and fly-ins by a wide variety of antique, classic, homebuilt and warbird aircraft, in addition to modern general aviation aircraft. There will be static displays on the field, vendors, hands-on activities for adults and children and up to three bands playing at one time. The Army will set up special displays including scaling walls and simulators.
As in years past, there will be a stage area that will feature comedians, musicians, and martial arts displays. A wide variety of foods will be available throughout the day. At noon there will be a special ceremony honoring all branches of the service. That will be followed by a parade and veterans will be the featured guests in the parade.
Throughout the day, it will be possible to buy airplane rides in an N3N or J-3 Cub. Admission to the day’s activities and parking are both free. For further information contact Kathy Rohm at 951.683.2309, ext. 104 or write Kathy@flabob.org.
