Air Works Becomes Service Partner for Sukhoi SuperJet in India

Under the agreement, Air Works will perform the maintenance, repair and overhaul services for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft series at its MRO facility in Hosur, near Bangalore.

New Delhi, August 31, 2009: Air Works - India’s leading aviation service provider – announced signing a Letter of Intent with SuperJet International, to become its Authorised Service Partner for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft in India.

Under the agreement, Air Works will perform the maintenance, repair and overhaul services for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft series at its MRO facility in Hosur, near Bangalore. The agreement marks yet another milestone for Air Works in their endeavor to forge MRO partnerships with world’s leading aircraft manufacturers.

From launching India’s first third party MRO facility in 2008 to becoming India’s first and only DGCA approved independent airline MRO, Air Works has carried out maintenance work for some commercial airlines like Kingfisher and SpiceJet. Air Works is soon expected to receive approval from European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for their MRO facility in Hosur.

Air Works Airline MRO in Hosur presently has one hangar capable of housing two ATR 72 Size aircraft or one narrow body aircraft, and with 13000 Sq. feet of office and back shop space. The company plans to build one more wide body hangar to be ready by end 2010 and invest up to USD $40 Million for setting up the additional hangars, the paint operation, and future engine/component MRO activities.
