IKHANA Group, Inc. recently reconfigured a Gulfstream G-III aircraft into an Airborne Multi-INT Laboratory (AML) for Lockheed Martin’s Information Systems & Global Services (IS&GS). With Total Aircraft Services Inc. providing the engineering technology and RW Martin Inc. conducting the modifications from their Murrieta, California facility, this unique project not only demonstrated large advances in aircraft integration, but also provided an opportunity for IKHANA Group, Inc. and Lockheed Martin to work together to develop a truly distinctive aircraft.

The AML project involved the reconfiguration of a Gulfstream III business jet into a flexible technology demonstrator. Lockheed Martin’s superior sensor design allows for war fighters to receive critical intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) in a timely fashion now that this test bed has received its Experimental Airworthiness Certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration. This airborne laboratory will be used to tailor advanced sensor combinations to resolve specific military, strategic intelligence and homeland security mission needs.

IKHANA Group was formed in June 2007 through the combination of Total Aircraft Services Inc. of Van Nuys, CA and RW Martin Inc. of Murrieta, CA under a common management team. This integration of two exceptional companies with specific areas of expertise facilitates the execution of complex projects such as the AML. “TAS and RW Martin were well suited to implement a project such as this for Lockheed Martin. It was exciting for all who participated to see this airplane evolve and witness these technological advances alongside the Lockheed Martin team.” notes Stan Fisher, COO of IKHANA Group Inc.
