The 55th A320 family aircraft of Aeroflot Russian Airlines has become the 2000th aircraft served.

Lufthansa Technik has reached an important milestone in surpassing the mark of 2,000 aircraft under Total Support contracts. The 55th A320 family aircraft of Aeroflot Russian Airlines christened after the famous Russian scientist academician Vladimir Chelomey has become the 2000th aircraft served under Lufthansa Technik's innovative product brands.

The new contract with Aeroflot Russian Airlines was signed by Yuriy Belikh, Technical Director of Aeroflot Russian Airlines and Walter Heerdt, Senior Vice President Marketing and Sales of Lufthansa Technik. According to the new agreement, the German MRO specialist will provide Total Component Support TCS® and Aircraft Related Component Services for 18 additional Airbus A320 series aircraft, taking their overall number from 45 to 63.

Tailored to product areas and market segments, the Total Support Services for aircraft include individually available services such as Total Component Support TCS®, Total Material Operations TMO®, Total Engine Support TES®. The Total Technical Support TTS® combines these and other custom tailored packages to enable the airline customer to fully concentrate on its core business which is flying aircraft thus earning revenue whilst maximizing yields.

"Customized to our requirements, Lufthansa Technik's Total Component Support TCS® has been one of the key success elements of Aeroflot's reliable and efficient operations", said Yuriy Belikh of Aeroflot Russian Airlines. "Therefore it was a logical decision to further extend the cooperation with Lufthansa Technik onto our newly delivered A320s."

"We are proud and happy to welcome an aircraft of Aeroflot as our 2000th aircraft under a Total Support contract," said Walter Heerdt, Senior Vice President Marketing and Sales of Lufthansa Technik. "I am convinced that the strong cooperation with our long-lasting Russian partner and the milestone of 2000 aircraft under contract provides clear evidence of the success of our innovative products."

The relationship of Lufthansa Technik and the Aeroflot Group has a long and successful tradition, since Aeroflot Russian Airlines became the first customer in the former Soviet Union for Lufthansa Technik in 1992. Since then Lufthansa Technik has signed contracts with all subsidiaries of the Aeroflot Group. Recent agreements include for example a Total Component Support TCS® for Aeroflot Russian Airlines' A320 and A330 fleets as well as for the Boeing 737 Classic fleets of Aeroflot Don and Aeroflot Nord.
