Hamilton Sundstrand Selected by Republic Airways as Exclusive Provider of APU Repair Services on Embraer 170/190 Fleet

With this current selection, Hamilton Sundstrand will provide all APU maintenance services for Republic Airways' current fleet of 133 Embraer 170/190 series aircraft.

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hamilton Sundstrand, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX), has been selected by Republic Airways Holdings to perform all maintenance services for the Hamilton Sundstrand APS 2300 Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) installed in its fleet of 133 Embraer 170/190 series aircraft.

Hamilton Sundstrand will continue to repair Republic Airways' APS 2300 APUs in its San Diego, Calif., facility, along with the other Hamilton Sundstrand APUs fitted in Republic's fleet of Embraer 145 aircraft.

The APS 2300 APU is produced at the Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems facility in San Diego, Calif. To date, more than 600 APS 2300 APUs have been delivered to more than 50 airlines flying the Embraer 170/190 aircraft.

With this current selection, Hamilton Sundstrand will provide all APU maintenance services for Republic Airways' current fleet of 133 Embraer 170/190 series aircraft, all of which are equipped with the APS 2300 APU, and 81 Embraer 135/145 series aircraft, equipped with the Hamilton Sundstrand APS 500R APU.

Other Hamilton Sundstrand systems on the Embraer 170/190 aircraft include the Electric Power Generating System as well as the Air Management System.
