TAP Maintenance and Engineering Brazil Delivers Two ERJ145 Aircraft to GECAS for Operation by PASSAREDO Linhas Aereas
The services were performed in TAP M&E Brazil's hangars in Porto Alegre, and included structural repairs, several modifications in mechanical and electronic systems, and the complete interiors restoration.
Rio de Janeiro, September 30, 2009. TAP Maintenance and Engineering Brazil delivered two ERJ145 aircraft to GECAS, after performing a C-Check, which immediately went into operation with PASSAREDO Linhas Aéreas. The aircraft, with serial numbers 145597 and 145607, were operated by PB AIR, a Thai airline, and have joined the fleet of the Brazilian company with tail numbers PR-PSH and PR-PSI, respectively. PASSAREDO already had two aircraft of the same model in its fleet, plus six aircraft EMB120 Brasilia.
The services were performed in TAP M&E Brazil’s hangars in Porto Alegre, and included structural repairs, several modifications in mechanical and electronic systems, and the complete interiors restoration. There was also a landing gear overhaul, recuperation of the APU, overhaul/repair of all Hard Time components and substitution of engines for AD incorporation. PASSAREDO’s technical personnel accompanied all of the work, together with GECAS’ team, and expressed its satisfaction with the quality of the services, after performing test flights. “We have known TAP M&E Brazil for a long time and, once again, we have seen the company’s technical competence, this time with our new airplane. We look forward to continuing this partnership,” said Captain José Luiz Felício Filho, President of PASSAREDO.
The President TAP M&E Brazil, Eng. Nestor Mauro Koch, also had this to say: “It was a pleasure to welcome PASSAREDO, again, to our facilities. All of the Brazilian operators, without exception, are our customers. Whether airplane maintenance or component overhaul, all of the aircraft flying in the skies of Brazil have experienced some type of service performed by TAP M&E Brazil. This shows the confidence that the market has in our services.” The company has also done the maintenance work on PASSAREDO’s EMB120 Brasilia aircraft and engines, since the beginning of its operation. PASSAREDO is an important customer to TAP M&E Brazil.
