Lindbergh Foundation Names Larry Williams as Chairman, President & CEO
Williams is Chief Executive Officer of BRS Aerospace, in South St. Paul, Minn.
MINNEAPOLIS, MINN., (October 7, 2009) — The Lindbergh Foundation announced that Larry Williams, of BRS Aerospace, was elected as the Foundation’s Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer.
“Larry Williams has brought his exceptional personal and professional skills to the board of directors for two years,” said John King, past chairman of the Foundation and co-chairman of King Schools, Inc. “The entire board is confident that Larry’s energy and outstanding leadership will guide the Foundation toward our goal of supporting scientific and technological innovation in research projects that address environmental challenges.”
Williams said, “I’m looking forward to my new role at the Lindbergh Foundation. It’s an organization that does great work and I’m pleased to be a part of it.”
Mr. Williams is Chief Executive Officer of BRS Aerospace, in South St. Paul, Minn. BRS develops, engineers and manufactures the world’s only FAA certified whole-aircraft recovery parachute system for use with defense, general aviation and recreational aircraft. BRS’s emergency parachute systems are designed to bring down the entire aircraft and its occupants in the event of an in-air emergency. Since its inception in 1980, the BRS system has documented 241 lives saved through the deployment of its systems in actual in-air emergencies.
Mr. Williams has a degree in Fire and Safety Engineering Technology from Eastern Kentucky University and is a graduate of the Aviation Safety program at the University of Southern California. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Nuclear Weapons Technician and received the Air Force Commendation Medal in 1980.
