Orlando, Florida…October 19, 2009…BBA Aviation Engine Repair and Overhaul (ERO) company Dallas Airmotive will introduce an AOG Mobile Repair vehicle to Southern California to provide engine services. The vehicle will be fully equipped to perform on-site engine diagnosis and repair including hot section inspection of Honeywell APU units and module exchange for Rolls-Royce 250 series engines. The vehicle will be dispatched on demand and will be positioned at the Signature Flight Support facility in Van Nuys while servicing the Southern California basin.

The new unit is the third such vehicle in use by Dallas Airmotive. Other vehicles serve the Northeast U.S. out of Teterboro, New Jersey and the Southeast U.S. out of West Palm Beach, Florida. Dallas Airmotive’s first AOG mobile vehicle entered service in 2006 and the second in 2007. All provide OEM-authorized service.

“AOG Mobile Response vehicles help extend the reach of our Field Service organization and Regional Turbine Centers,” stated BBA Aviation ERO President Hugh McElroy. “The advantages of our mobile service are numerous including lower repair cost, less downtime, no aircraft repositioning expense, and no rental engine requirement. As we implement our long-term strategy of moving deeper into regional services, we’ll continue to add vehicles and, where appropriate, Regional Turbine Centers in order to provide local, quick response service to operators.”

Each AOG mobile vehicle is outfitted with all the tools and shop materials necessary to provide on-site APU hot section inspection, APU compressor carbon seal changes, Rolls-Royce Model 250 module maintenance and exchange, PW305 IBR inspection, plus engine removal and replacement, non-destructive testing, LRU replacement and more.

In addition to its AOG Mobile Response vehicles, Dallas Airmotive operates ten Regional Turbine Centers in the USA plus one in the United Kingdom and one in Brazil. The company also operates major engine repair and overhaul facilities in four locations: two in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, one in Neosho, Missouri and one in Portsmouth, England.
