Titled Refueler Operator Training, the computer-based training (CBT) program provides FBO refueler operators with the tools needed to conduct safe fuel handling practices and improve efficiency.

HOUSTON, TX and ORLANDO, FL, October 20, 2009 — Chevron Global Aviation today announced a new online training course designed for Fixed Based Operators (FBO) employees involved in refueling aircraft at the NBAA 62nd Annual Meeting & Convention in Orlando Florida. Titled Refueler Operator Training, the computer-based training (CBT) program provides FBO refueler operators with the tools needed to conduct safe fuel handling practices and improve efficiency. The program also improves knowledge of safety devices and teaches troubleshooting techniques. The self-paced, interactive, modular training will guide users through topics with animations, graphics, demonstrations and step-by-step instructions.

Chevron will host demonstrations of the Refueler Operator Training CBT at its NBAA booth (#5100).

“Understanding the needs of our FBOs is a critical piece of being a good business partner,” said Willie Chatman, general aviation training coordinator, Chevron Global Aviation. “One of the most important needs is ongoing training. For training to be beneficial, it needs to be interactive, engaging and accessible. Our new Refueler Operator Training course is designed to be all these things. It is part of a comprehensive training offering Chevron makes available to all FBOs in our network.”

Available November 2009, Refueler Operator Training is an online course that covers:

Quality control procedures for fuel sampling, equipment components, tanks, and filtration

Standard operating procedures for pre-trip inspections, vehicle start-up, and fueling/defueling aircraft

Trouble shooting matrix

The class is available at no charge to Chevron and Texaco branded FBOs.

The course is offered through Chevron General Aviation’s TotalGA.com web site. The flexible solution does not require participants to take the class in one sitting. The program monitors progress and allows students to log-off and then pick-up their studies at a future date. Once completed, students receive a certification of completion for their personal training records.

Chevron is committed to providing expert training classes to the FBO market. Refueler Operator Training is the third CBT course offered on TotalGA.com. The first CBT course, Aviation 101, focuses on the basics of airport and ramp operations. The training is designed to provide Customer Service and Line Service Representatives the necessary skills to run efficient and customer service oriented operations. The second CBT course, Product Integrity 101, focuses on the various quality assurance practices and procedures required in the aviation industry. The course targets personnel whose duties include line service, customer service and operations.
