EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wis. - (Nov. 12, 2009) - Following on the popularity and success of advance online ticket availability for EAA AirVenture Oshkosh the past two years, attendees staying at the drive-in Camp Scholler area can now also pre-purchase camping for prime arrival dates. AirVenture 2010, "The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration," is coming July 26-August 1, 2010 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh.
Advance camping purchase for the drive-in Camp Scholler area provides the convenience of express registration at the campground entrance through specially designated gates. First introduced for admissions at EAA AirVenture 2008, the advance purchase system allows EAA members and non-members to pre-purchase AirVenture admission via a secure website and speed through the admissions process. Both daily and weekly admissions are available, as is the ability to join EAA and immediately receive the best possible admission prices available only to EAA members. It also gives discounts to those who pre-purchase their AirVenture tickets before June 15, 2010, including $2 on daily admissions and $5 on weekly admissions for advance online purchasers.
"The response to the initial availability of online advance AirVenture tickets in 2008 was overwhelming, and it grew significantly in 2009," said Rick Larsen, EAA's vice president of marketing. "Tens of thousands of aviation enthusiasts now take advantage of this method to save money and have their tickets in hand when they arrive in Oshkosh. This year we're pleased to be able to add advance purchase camping to this convenient process, so you can get to the fun even faster!"
To access the advance ticketing area, go to www.airventure.org and connect to the "Buy Now!" area. Full instructions and answers to frequently asked questions are available at that site. Advance AirVenture tickets are scanned and redeemed for the appropriate wristband at AirVenture gates.
Advance-purchase camping is available for Camp Scholler (drive-in area) only, for arrival dates between Thursday, July 22, through Monday, July 26. Complete details are available at the online ticketing webpage.
"Our objective for advance purchase camping is simple - deliver a faster check-in process at Camp Scholler during the peak arrival days," Larsen said. "We'll make that happen with dedicated lines for those who have made their advance purchase for camping."
Advance purchase EAA AirVenture tickets also make great Christmas and holiday gifts, and allow recipients to enjoy many months of anticipation prior to their own Oshkosh experience. The advance-purchase option is also a unique gift idea for aviation enthusiasts. While buying admission tickets and camping, online purchasers can also select from limited edition AirVenture merchandise and complimentary gift packaging.
In addition, EAA members are encouraged to bring guests, with guest weekly admissions that now include one-year EAA memberships.
"Bring a friend along for a week to share the spirit of aviation," Larsen said. "They'll depart Oshkosh with unforgettable memories and as a member of the most passionate group of aviation enthusiasts in the world."
Advance admission ticketing is made possible through support from Jeppesen.
