ORLANDO, FL, November 30, 2009 (I/ITSEC) — NGRAIN, a leading provider of interactive 3D equipment simulation solutions for maintenance training and support, today announced it is opening an office in Richmond, Virginia. The NGRAIN Virginia office will provide direct support to the company’s local and East Coast customers, which include the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security armed services.
“Military organizations are increasingly turning to simulation technology as a way of cost-effectively delivering enhanced maintenance training and support programs. This has resulted in the dramatic growth of our business,” said Paul Lindahl, CEO, NGRAIN. “With the rapid adoption of NGRAIN’s cost-saving Virtual Task Trainer solution and NGRAIN Producer software, the time is right to open a Virginia office. We are looking forward to becoming a larger part of the Washington, DC and Virginia modeling and simulation community.”
Over the past year the United States Coast Guard (USCG), United States Marine Corps, US Army, and US Air Force have continued their commitment to training transformation by selecting NGRAIN® Virtual Task Trainer and NGRAIN® Producer software to provide personnel with enhanced learning and improved maintenance support. In use across the armed services, the NGRAIN Virtual Task Trainer is a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software-based solution that leverages 3D simulation to deliver installation, maintenance, repair and — most recently— medical training.
“NGRAIN equipment simulation solutions give our maintainers increased access to critical maintenance training, helping our personnel perform better,” said LCDR Aaron Waters, Section Chief, Advanced Distributed Learning, Force Readiness Command, USCG. “We welcome NGRAIN to the DC area and look forward to the years to come.”
NGRAIN is actively supporting the armed forces on a range of programs at home and overseas including the following:
• US Army: Using NGRAIN 3D simulations of Boeing-Vertol CH-47 Chinook helicopter sub-systems, the US Army Aviation Warfighting Center has been able to provide aircraft technicians at home and overseas with greater access to technical training.
• US Coast Guard (USCG): Leveraging NGRAIN Virtual Task Trainers for HC-144 Ocean Sentry maritime patrol aircraft avionics, power train, and hydraulic systems, the USCG is increasing access to critical maintenance training throughout the fleet.
• US Marine Corps (USMC): With sixty NGRAIN Virtual Task Trainers supporting maintenance training for individual and crew weapons, ground weapon systems, and vehicle subsystems, the USMC is transforming its classroom training, while also reducing overall training and maintenance costs.
Making 3D simulation attainable to the maintenance community, NGRAIN delivers unparalleled interactivity and is the only offering in the market that supports real-time, unscripted part removal and replacement, which is critical to effective learning. NGRAIN’s powerful Producer software allows subject matter experts to create and update 3D simulations with ease, providing organizations with a new opportunity for cost savings.
The NGRAIN Virginia office will accommodate a team of business development, sales, project management, instructional design, 3D modeling and customer support professionals. The NGRAIN Virginia team will provide direct support to NGRAIN’s local and East Coast customers and partners.
R&D efforts will bring company’s volume graphics technology to new frontiers.
