Chromalloy Selected by U.S. Navy for LM2500 Gas Turbine Engine Component Repair
The five-year, $15 million Direct Vendor Delivery contract was awarded by the Naval Inventory Control Point and covers component repairs on the LM2500 engine blades, vanes, shrouds and seals.
ORANGEBURG, N.Y., December 7, 2009 – Chromalloy announced today that it has been selected by the U.S. Navy to provide component repairs for the Navy’s LM2500 aero derivative gas turbine engine program powering its fleet of cruisers, frigates, destroyers and patrol boats.
The five-year, $15 million Direct Vendor Delivery contract was awarded by the Naval Inventory Control Point and covers component repairs on the LM2500 engine blades, vanes, shrouds and seals.

Covered under the current contract are 29 turbine engine components to be repaired in Chromalloy’s worldwide service network.
In addition to a full range of marine, industrial and aviation gas turbine engine maintenance, repair and parts, Chromalloy designs and manufactures FAA-approved replacement parts that meet or exceed the performance, reliability and durability specifications of original equipment manufacturer parts.
In support of marine and land-based power generation turbines, the company employs identical engineering disciplines used to produce its FAA-certified parts.
Chromalloy is the only supplier providing FAA-approved replacement parts for the critical hot section of gas turbine engines.
