LINCOLN, NEB. — In 2009, Duncan Aviation completed 35 C Check inspections for Dassault Falcon Jet models at its Lincoln, Neb., and Battle Creek, Mich., facilities.

With a total of six dedicated Falcon airframe teams on hand to perform inspections and maintenance, the C Checks were performed on seven Falcon 900s, seven Falcon 2000s, six Falcon 50s, six Falcon 50EXs, three Falcon 2000EXs, two Falcon 900EXs, two Falcon 20s and two Falcon 10s.

In addition to 84 dedicated airframe technicians, 77 of whom have been factory trained, Duncan Aviation has three Falcon Tech Reps on hand to answer operator and technician questions.

The C Check inspection is the most comprehensive inspection for Falcon aircraft and operators often maximize downtime by upgrading cockpit avionics and cabin electronics systems, refurbishing interiors or repainting the aircraft. The majority of these C Checks had accompanying upgrade work and many required major corrosion repair. Duncan Aviation is also authorized by Aviation Partners Inc to install their winglet STC on the Falcon 2000/2000EX aircraft, and has completed nine installations to date.

To help make an operator’s task of planning for a major inspection easier, Duncan Aviation recently unveiled a Maintenance Event Planning web resource. The goal of the Straight Talk resource is to provide information to help an aircraft owner, operator or director of maintenance identify their needs before they pick up the phone and ask for a quote. This saves them time and helps them obtain more accurate proposals.

In addition, a downloadable MRO Comparison Worksheet is available that operators can use to help compare service providers side-by-side, taking into account financial considerations, project communication and workscope/downtime.

You can find Duncan Aviation’s maintenance event planning information and the MRO Comparison Worksheet at www.DuncanAviation.aero/planning.
