Goodrich Expands Supply Chain Efforts in Asia
Goodrich expects its Asian supply chain operation to triple in size over the next decade.
SINGAPORE, Feb. 1, 2010 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Goodrich Corporation (NYSE: GR) has expanded its supply chain operations in Asia to support increased business and streamline activities in the region. In late 2009, Goodrich opened a new supply chain management office in Xi'an, China. The Xi'an office supplements Goodrich's Asian supply chain headquarters location in Tianjin, China, which also opened in 2009. Goodrich expects its Asian supply chain operation to triple in size over the next decade.
Dan Pleshko, Chief Supply Chain Officer at Goodrich, said, "This is a critical step in our global growth strategy, as Asia represents the fastest growing aviation market in the world. As we enhance our relationships, we will work to share the Goodrich culture and values with companies that we have come to depend upon, up and down the supply chain. We want our suppliers around the world to hold the same values that we do - providing outstanding quality and value with the highest business ethics."
The new supply chain operation is one of several recent activities for the company in China. In 2009, Goodrich opened a new facility in the Tianjin Airport Industrial Park to support nacelle and thrust reverser original equipment as well as maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) activities. The 50,000 square foot facility will perform nacelle and thrust reverser MRO work for customers in the region. In addition, it will support engine buildup and podding work for the new Airbus A320 Family aircraft final assembly line in Tianjin. These facilities join existing Goodrich operations in Fanling and Xiamen, China.
