AMT adds Ronald Donner as Editor; he holds FAA certificates as an A&P with an IA, and a commercial pilot for single and multi engine land airplanes, gliders, and an Instrument Airplane rating.

As Aircraft Maintenance Technology begins its 21st year representing the aircraft maintenance industry, we would like to announce the addition of Ronald Donner as Editor. Ron comes to the magazine after a 27-year career with Northwest Airlines.

Ron began flying as a teenager and like many before him fueled and cleaned airplanes while attending the aviation maintenance program at Blackhawk Technical College in Janesville, WI. He holds FAA certificates as an A&P with an Inspection Authorization, and a commercial pilot for single and multi engine land airplanes, gliders, and an Instrument Airplane rating. Ron has recently been attending Embry Riddle Aeronautical University taking safety and management classes.

Ron’s aviation career began at general aviation FBOs where for eight years he worked as a technician, inspector, director of maintenance, and charter pilot. He joined Northwest Airlines as a technician, and became a senior foreman and maintenance manger before moving into the airline’s Quality Assurance department where he held positions as a QA auditor, manager, QA representative, and FAA liaison. He brings an in-depth knowledge of FAA regulatory issues, quality and safety programs, and maintenance providers worldwide.

Throughout his airline career Ron remained involved in general aviation. He is a part of Stanton Sport Aviation Inc. located in Minnesota, assisting in the shop and holding volunteer leadership roles on the board of directors as the Operations Committee chairman, president, and is currently vice president.

“I’m thrilled to be part of Aircraft Maintenance Technology,” says Ron. “It’s my sincere hope that my aviation experience and background will benefit the magazine and its dedicated readers.” You can contact Ron at email [email protected].
