ORANGEBURG, N.Y., February 24, 2010 – Chromalloy announced today that aerospace industry veteran Dennis Miller will lead the company’s Midwest City, Okla., gas turbine engine maintenance and service center.
“Dennis brings many years of engine manufacturing, service and operational expertise to Chromalloy,” said Mike Beffel, Vice President, Operations. “His leadership in the industry serving both the commercial and military aircraft segments will help grow this business, and his operational expertise will take the facility to new levels of performance and efficiency.”
Most recently, Dennis was Vice President and General Manager at Smiths Group, PLC, a diversified global manufacturer of aerospace systems and other technologies. He led the Smiths Tubular Systems unit, a global aircraft engine services business, including development of new Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) certifications and Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for aircraft engines.
He earlier worked at Teledyne Technologies, a global provider of information technology systems and services for defense, space, environmental and nuclear applications, where he was a senior manager in the company’s Turbine Engines division.
He earlier was Director of Engineering & Overhaul Operations at Gentz Industries, a provider of overhaul and repairs for aerospace components. Prior to that, Dennis worked for many years at GE Aircraft Engines as a Program Manager and Manufacturing & Quality Engineer. He began his career as an Engineer at Goodyear Tire & Rubber.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering technology from the University of Akron and an MBA from Xavier University. Miller has conducted training programs in Six Sigma, LEAN and other continuous improvement methodologies. He succeeds Connie Van Fleet who retired last year.
The Chromalloy facility in Midwest City provides component repairs for commercial and military aircraft engines. Additionally, it provides component repair for industrial gas turbines for the power generation industry, including the advanced generation power turbines used in base load and cyclic operations.
Chromalloy is a supplier of advanced repairs and services for gas turbines used in aviation and land-based applications, repairs, and refurbishes and manufactures engine components. The company also designs and manufactures FAA-approved replacement parts for aircraft engines that are certified to meet or exceed the performance, reliability and durability specifications of original equipment manufacturer parts.
