Australia and China Aircraft Engineer Teams to Participate in AMTSociety’s 3rd Annual Competition at Aviation Industry Expo.

Burnsville, MN (March 2, 2010) – AMTSociety welcomes Australian Licensed Aircraft Engineers Association (ALAEA) from Sydney, Australia and Lode Technology Co., Ltd of Beijing, China to the third annual Maintenance Skills Competition at Aviation Industry Expo.

Attracting international attendees is nothing new to Aviation Industry Expo. However, no other maintenance event, like the AMTSociety Maintenance Skills Competition, has ever attracted international competitors before.

“Every year Aviation Industry Expo attracts attendees from all over the world,” said Tom Hendershot, AMTSociety Executive Director. “With nearly 13 years of history, it’s no wonder international attendees are a big part of AIE. The AMTSociety Maintenance Skills Competition was born less than three years ago. To already be attracting international participants to this feature of Aviation Industry Expo is a remarkable benchmark!”

The Maintenance Skills Competition tests the skills of the aircraft technician on all levels, including licensed AMTs and AMEs, students enrolled in FAA, EASA, CASA or equivalently authorized schools, as well as personnel of any country's Armed Forces personnel involved in the aircraft maintenance field. The competition is part of AMTSociety’s 3rd Annual Symposium at Aviation Industry Expo. The Annual Symposium includes events like a golf outing and Scholarship Fundraiser, Aircraft Maintenance Training including FAA approved Inspection Authorization renewal training and the Maintenance Skills Competition.

“International participation drives home the premise of the AMTSociety Skills Competition,” said Ken MacTiernan, Chairman AMTSociety’s Maintenance Skills Competition. “Skill is the sole qualification of a great aircraft maintenance engineer. An aircraft will never discriminate against your race, religion, sex or global position.”

The Maintenance Skills Competition is just one portion of Aviation Industry Expo 2010, the ONLY Event Focused on Ground Support, FBO/Aviation Services and Aircraft Maintenance is March 16-18, 2010 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The industry event will attract an audience of aviation professionals and key buyers from nearly 35 countries throughout the world. From maintenance to ground support, safety to FBO services, this event focuses on what matters most to the aviation industry.
