Sid Ashworth To Lead GE Aviation's Washington D.C. Operations

Effective March 22, Sid Ashworth will serve as Vice President of GE Aviation's Washington, D.C. Operations.

EVENDALE, OHIO - March 9, 2010 - Effective March 22, Sid Ashworth will serve as Vice President of GE Aviation's Washington, D.C. Operations. Ashworth has more than 25 years experience in the legislative and executive government branches. She spent 14 years as a Professional Staff Member with the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations and served as the Majority and Minority Staff Directors of the Defense Subcommittee and Majority and Minority Staff Directors of the Military Construction Subcommittee. During Ashworth's tenure with the Defense Subcommittee, she was responsible for formulating funding and legislation recommendations for defense and intelligence spending in excess of $600 billion annually.

Ashworth also worked as a civilian in the Department of the Army for nine years and was focused on resource management and force structure and strategy. Most recently, she was Principal of the Ashworth Group, a consulting firm providing advisory and business development services in the defense, aerospace and intelligence industries.

She received a master's from Campbell University in North Carolina and completed her undergraduate work at University of Maryland. Additionally, she was a Senior Executive Fellow, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University and serves as a Senior Advisor with the Center of Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
