Moskovia Airlines Chooses AFI KLM E&M to Maintain its CFM56-7 Engines of New B.737 NG

Paris, Amstelveen, 22 March 2010 – Last December, Moskovia Airlines and AFI KLM E&M signed an exclusive 8-year contract for the maintenance of CFM56-7 engines equipping the Russian carrier’s B737-700/800 aircraft. The agreement covers maintenance on a time amd materials basis and the lease of spare engines.

Fast-growing airline

As part of its fleet renewal program, Moskovia Airlines loan two B737-700s and two B737-800s in 2009. The acquisition of western-built aircraft is part of the carrier’s strategy to expand its international operations with flights to Europe and countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The 8-year contract signed by the two companies covers maintenance of all the engines powering its new next generation aircraft on a Time & Materials basis together with the lease of spare engines to maintain operational continuity during off-wing maintenance operations.

Increased capacity and acknowledged expertise.

AFI KLM E&M operates one of the world’s most experienced engine shops for maintaining CFM56-7 powerplants, performing close to 80 shop visits on its type each year. In particular, the creation of our new engine shop at Schiphol in 2004 substantially boosted engine maintenance capacity. AFI KLM E&M and its customers will be able to take the forecast upcoming surge in CFM56-7 shop visits in their stride. The maintenance facilities at Paris and Amsterdam also deliver tailor-made, integrated solutions to match the customer needs.
