Friedrichshafen, April 8, 2010 – Becker Avionics is unveiling its new MFD6203 moving map concept at the AERO2010.
The MFD6203 concept is a new, state-of-the art moving map system in the common 160mm panel-mount format that provides a sophisticated moving map solution for VFR flight. Optimal situational awareness is achieved through various overlay functions like terrain, weather or traffic information. Traffic data is obtained from ADS-B or other external traffic sensors. Weather data is either loaded on the ground or received in-flight through an external satellite modem. “The main advantage of the MFD6203 is a very user friendly and intuitive human machine interface” Mr. Roland Becker, President of the Becker Avionics Group stated, “a simple select and push design concept provides a new and easy way to enter flight legs and flight plans.”
Otto Bommer, Vice President Product development stated, “We want to use the AERO Exhibition to collect initial customer feedback on the MFD6203 concept and to give our customers the opportunity to introduce suggestions or improvements to the moving map system, prior to making a decision on initial configuration and certification.
