April 23, 2010
The mission of the FAAST Team and Sporty’s partnership is to improve aviation’s safety record by conveying safety principles and practices through outreach and education.

Sporty’s Academy has been named an industry member of the FAA Safety Team (FAAST) to help promote aviation safety and awareness to all pilots. The mission of the FAAST Team and Sporty’s partnership is to improve aviation’s safety record by conveying safety principles and practices through outreach and education.

To help accomplish this mission, Sporty’s offers an extensive collection of FAA WINGS-accepted courses to help all pilots achieve their training and proficiency goals. Sporty’s WINGS-accepted courses include popular What You Should Know® titles such as Flight Review, VFR Communications, Takeoffs & Landings and Instrument Proficiency Check.

Also included in the WINGS program are Sporty’s Complete Flight Training Courses. The Private Pilot and Instrument Rating Courses allow students to receive WINGS credit automatically with the click of a button when the course is completed.

A complete listing of Sporty’s WINGS-accepted courses may be found in the course library at www.FAASafety.gov or by visiting www.sportys.com/wings.

Pilots can even earn WINGS credit for flight training provided by Sporty’s Academy at its world headquarters at Clermont County Airport (I69).

“We are committed to reaching out to pilots to help them improve the aviation safety record through individual pilot proficiency,” said Sporty’s Academy President Eric Radtke. “We’re honored to be recognized by the FAA as an organization dedicated to bettering the general aviation community.”

On Saturday, April 17, 2010, the FAA Safety Team presented its first Safety Stand Down at the Sun ‘n Fun Fly-In. Extensive content from Sporty’s Academy Runway Safety program was included in this event, a safety and education initiative designed to improve flying safety. All future Safety Stand Down presentations will also be broadcast online at www.faaproductionstudios.com.
