division, Delta TechOps, today announced that the company has signed a long-term strategic contract with Global Avia Logistics (GAL) to support the overhaul and repair services of Nordwind Airline’s Pratt & Whitney 2000 Series (PW2000) engines and GTCP 331-200 auxiliary power units (APUs). The engine and APU maintenance will support Nordwind’s Boeing 757 fleet, which is operated in Asia and Europe.

“Global Avia Logistics and Delta TechOps view each other as critical partners and have a mutual respect for one another,” said Kazim Dikici, president, Global Avia. “By leveraging Delta’s logistics network, which includes a B757 maintenance presence in Asia and Europe, we can boost our operational efficiencies, and our collective abilities will offer the market safe, high quality and cost-efficient services.”

Delta TechOps, which services more than half of the PW2000 market, has extensive operational experience and material access for this engine type.

“This partnership is a direct reflection of the TechOps team’s exceptional skill with this particular engine type,” said Tony Charaf, president, Delta TechOps. “By partnering with Global Avia, we will be able to expand our growing presence in the European and Asian markets — especially in the Commonwealth Independent States, where aviation is steadily growing.”

Last week, Delta TechOps announced it was named the Aviation Week MRO of the Year — Outstanding Maintenance Group, and was voted “Best Total Solutions Provider” in the annual OneAero Top Shop Awards. The MRO of the Year Awards recognize the best Maintenance Repair and Overhaul providers worldwide for pioneering achievements. Award recipients are selected by the editors of Overhaul & Maintenance magazine in four separate categories, including Outstanding Maintenance Group.
