GAMA Names Sambiase Manager Of Airworthiness And Maintenance
Sambiase is responsible for GAMA’s activities related to regulatory requirements governing the airworthiness, production and maintenance of general aviation airplanes.
WASHINGTON, DC, April 27, 2010 - The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) has named Joe Sambiase as the Association’s manager of airworthiness and maintenance. In this new position, Sambiase is responsible for GAMA’s activities related to regulatory requirements governing the airworthiness, production and maintenance of general aviation airplanes.
“Having a highly experienced industry professional in place who is responsible for a vast array of airworthiness issues will significantly enhance GAMA’s safety portfolio and increase our ability to represent our members on related issues,” said GAMA’s President and CEO, Pete Bunce. “Joe’s specialized expertise in regulatory analysis is going to be a real asset to our technical team and we are extremely pleased to have him onboard.”
Joe brings over ten years of technical experience in aviation, specifically regulatory compliance issues. Prior to joining GAMA, Sambiase was employed by Compass Airlines where he participated in the company’s part 121 air carrier certification process. He was later appointed to a lead position for new aircraft deliveries where he worked directly with the manufacturers. Joe has also held positions with US Airways, Independence Air and Jet Aircraft Maintenance.
Joe acquired his airframe and power plant (A&P) license from the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he currently resides in Reston.
