Aviation Technical Services and Sojitz Corporation Enter 5 Year Agreement to Promote Aircraft Maintenance & Modification on Japanese Aircraft

They will target work in modification of Japanese post delivery aircraft coming off the production line. Sojitz will sponsor ATS in obtaining Japan’s JCAB certification.

Everett, WA, (May 12, 2010) – Aviation Technical Services (ATS) and Sojitz Corporation of Japan have reached a five-year agreement to promote aircraft heavy maintenance and modification of Japanese registered aircraft in North America.

In one of the first objectives of their agreement, ATS and Sojitz will take advantage of ATS being located near Boeing’s widebody aircraft production facility on Paine Field, and Sojitz being Boeing’s International Services Contractor in Japan, by targeting work in modification of Japanese post delivery aircraft coming off the production line.

The agreement also includes Sojitz sponsorship of ATS (the eighth largest third party MRO company in the world) for obtaining Japan’s JCAB certification. ATS’ current list of certification achievements include: FAA Class IV Repair Station; Quality Management System AS 9110 and ISO 9001:2000 EASA Repair Station; and Bermuda DCA Approved. ATS is also working to obtain China’s CAAC certification in the second quarter of 2010.
