NASA Names Winners in NASA Student Launch Projects Rocketry Challenge
The NASA rocketry challenge tasks student teams to design, build and test-fly sophisticated, reusable rockets capable of carrying working science payloads to an altitude of 1 mile and return them safely to Earth. Eighteen student teams participated.
Other student teams that participated in the challenge were from Alabama A&M University in Huntsville; Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla.; Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta; Harding University in Searcy, Ark.; Iowa State University in Ames; Mitchell Community College in Statesville, N.C.; a joint team representing Texas Tech University in Lubbock and South Plains College in Levelland, Texas; Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Ala.; the University of Central Florida in Orlando; the University of Evansville in Evansville, Ind.; the University of Florida in Gainesville; the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks; the University of South Alabama in Mobile; Vanderbilt University in Nashville; and Windward Community College in Kaneohe, Hawaii.
