Strafel Named Senior Vice President Operations of Aviall

Dallas, Texas, June 2, 2010 -- Eric D. Strafel, a 15-year aviation veteran with management experience in supply chain strategy, global operations, engines and propulsion systems, has been named Senior Vice President of Operations for Aviall, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company. Strafel will oversee the commercial and defense operations for Aviall, including supply chain management, procurement, warehouse operations and the Lean Sigma program.

Strafel has been Vice President of Supply Chain Management for L3 Communications, the sixth largest defense company in the U.S. and a prime contractor. Strafel’s experience also includes leadership positions with Honeywell International, Precision Conversions, and United Technologies. His international assignments have included responsibilities in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Strafel earned an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Binghamton with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Strafel also serves as a volunteer for USA Leadership Corps, an organization that aids emerging small businesses and non-profit organizations.
