Hangar63 has recently partnered with Aviation Management International (AMI) to offer customers the AMI line of Portable Ground Power Units (GPUs).

Fort Lauderdale, FL – Hangar63 (Banyan’s Aviation Store) located at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE) has recently partnered with Aviation Management International (AMI) to offer customers the AMI line of Portable Ground Power Units (GPUs).

There are five different GPU models now available at Hangar63 and at www.TropicAero.com/gpu. Depending on the model, they can start anything from a Cessna to a Gulfstream. Some of the features of the GPUs are the 60 minute rapid recharge rate, cooler starts for turbine powered aircraft, and completely sealed dry cell batteries. All of AMI portable GPUs are lightweight making them a functional fit for aircraft and helicopters flying to and from remote locations.

“Our new portable GPUs are a perfect match for the owner/operator who needs continuous power on the aircraft, shop or hangar. Also they are small and light enough to carry in case you need power at a remote location. Since their introduction at Hangar63 they have been a hit with our customers,” said Chuck Speakman, Hangar63 Manager.

“Ample power when starting turbine powered aircraft, as a slow spooling hot start, can do tremendous damage to a turbine engine. Further the continuous power capability of the units saves the aircraft battery while owner / operators perform GPS and FMS updates to their aircraft. The AMI GPU’s offer tremendous capabilities and flexibility for the price when compared to traditionally designed Ground Power Units,” stresses Kevin Howarth, Vice-President of AMI.
