Boeing Shanghai Signs Maintenance Agreement with GE Capital Aviation Services

Boeing Shanghai was established in June 2006 as a joint venture of Boeing, Shanghai Airport Authorities and Shanghai Airlines.

SHANNON, Ireland, June 17, 2010 - Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services Co., Ltd (Boeing Shanghai) has reached general terms agreement for lease-return maintenance work with GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS), one of the world’s leading commercial aircraft leasing and financing companies.

Sean Flannery, executive vice president, Technical, and general manager, GECAS, Ltd., joined Bernard Hensey, CEO, Boeing Shanghai, at GECAS’ Shannon headquarters to sign the agreement, which provides the cornerstone for Boeing Shanghai to undertake future lease return work for GECAS.

“Establishing a network of high-quality maintenance providers is key to our strategy of supporting our valued customers”, said Flannery. “We welcome Boeing Shanghai into that network with this agreement.”

Lease-return maintenance provides another important market to leverage the expanding capabilities of Boeing Shanghai.

The mission of Boeing Shanghai is to provide high-quality modification, maintenance, repair and overhaul services to regional and international airlines as well as to domestic Chinese airlines.
