CAE USA will lead the design and development of a comprehensive ground-based training system, including aircrew and maintenance technician training solutions for the AT-6 platform.

FARNBOROUGH, U.K. (July 19, 2010) – Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) today announced it has selected CAE USA as its ground-based training systems provider for the Beechcraft AT-6 Light Attack and Armed Reconnaissance (LAAR) aircraft. Under the teaming agreement, CAE USA will support HBC’s global pursuit campaigns of the AT-6 aircraft. CAE USA, a leading provider of simulation and training systems, will provide a comprehensive ground-based training system as part of an expected AT-6 aircraft sale. HBC has the AT-6 on display at the Royal International Air Tattoo and Farnborough International Airshow in the United Kingdom.

“We selected CAE USA for its recognized training systems integration expertise, simulation technology leadership and its willingness to actively participate with our team of partners to deliver a comprehensive and integrated AT-6 training system,” said Jim Maslowski, HBC president, U.S. and International Government Business.

CAE USA will lead the design and development of a comprehensive ground-based training system, including aircrew and maintenance technician training solutions for the AT-6 platform. CAE’s responsibilities will include training system design and analysis, design and manufacture of synthetic training equipment, courseware development, classroom and simulator instruction, and training support services. CAE USA will also develop embedded aircraft simulation solutions for the AT-6 and other T-6 aircraft variants.

“We are delighted that Hawker Beechcraft has selected CAE USA as its training partner for the AT-6 aircraft program,” said John Lenyo, President and General Manager, CAE USA. “The ground-based training system is an important piece of the overall mission capability for a combat aircraft and CAE’s experience and expertise will play a key role in the comprehensive offering of the high-performing and versatile AT-6 aircraft.”
