The CMA-2102SB supports Inmarsat Safety Services, Aero-H+, Swift64 and SwiftBroadband satellite communications services.

(Farnborough International Air Show – July 19, 2010) Esterline CMC Electronics’ (CMC) multi-channel SwiftBroadband compliant Satellite Communications (Satcom) high gain antenna system was certified in late June 2010, on the Spanish Air Force’s A310 aircraft, along with Rockwell Collins Satcom avionics. The project has been led by Iberia Maintenance, the Spanish Air Force and the Spanish Government. The EASA certification was developed by EAD Aerospace of Toulouse, France. CMC is supplying its new-generation CMA-2102SB antenna as an upgrade to its CMA-2102 antenna that was previously onboard the A310s.

The CMA-2102SB supports Inmarsat Safety Services, Aero-H+, Swift64 and SwiftBroadband satellite communications services. It has received Inmarsat multi-channel SwiftBroadband approval and Transport Canada Appliance Type Approval. The CMA-2102SB is the only top-mounted ARINC 741 antenna to have received such approval. The antenna’s design enables seamless coverage, independent of aircraft direction over more than 90% of the specified Inmarsat hemisphere. The design of this top-mounted, low-profile antenna with exceptional bandwidth is based on CMC’s field proven, proprietary technology and architecture used in its current industry leading CMA-2102 high gain antenna system.

Esterline CMC Electronics is the preferred supplier of Satcom antennas to the air transport and VIP business jet markets. The company has captured more than 75 per cent of all Aero-H/H+ airline installations with its Satcom antennas. To date, CMC has delivered over 2,800 Inmarsat Satcom antenna systems to approximately 110 airline, OEM, military, corporate and VIP customers.
