FARNBOROUGH, England, July 19 /PRNewswire/ -- FARNBOROUGH AIR SHOW - SunExpress signed a ten-year exclusive maintenance service agreement with Pratt & Whitney for its fleet of CFM56-7 engines. Pratt & Whitney's Global Service Partners will provide these maintenance services at the Turkish Engine Center, a recent addition to its global network. Pratt & Whitney is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) company.
"A long-term agreement will allow us to forecast maintenance costs for each year, which is imperative as we plan to double our fleet in 2014," said Paul Schwaiger, chief executive officer, SunExpress. SunExpress, founded in October 1989, is a subsidiary of Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines. The airline is headquartered in Antalya, Turkey and operates a mix of charter as well as scheduled flights from multiple destinations between Europe and Turkey.
