The five-year agreement is designed to provide comprehensive engine overhaul services for the benefit of PT6A and PW100 turboprop engine operators in Central and South America.

Engine maintenance services will be provided by TAP Maintenance & Engineering Brazil's state-of-the-art mantenance and overhaul facility in Porto Alegre, which features the region's only engine test cells.

P&WC do Brasil in Sorocaba willl be responsible for selling and marketing the P&WC engine MRO services provided by the TAP M&E facility, as well as warranties, managing all customer relationships and supplying spare parts and technical assistance.

The collaboration agreement quickly establishes a solid support structure for P&WC turboprop engines in Central and South America and positions P&WC to significantly increase its share of the MRO market as its engine fleet grows in the years to come.

The agreement also responds to requests from P&WC customers in South America and offers them faster turnaround times and lower costs.

Because of the special expertise required, P&WC do Brasil will retain responsibility for performing overhauls of the PT6A-68C engines, which power the Super Tucano trainer operated by the Brazilian Air Force. Following maintenance in Sorocaba, the engines will be tested at TAP M&E's Porto Alegre facility.
