14th Annual ‘Cygnus Aviation Expo’ Will Expand Technical, Management Training

Fort Atkinson, WI (September 16, 2010) – In a vote of confidence to the recession-laden aviation industry, Cygnus Aviation, a division of business-to-business media leader Cygnus Business Media, announces a major rebranding and restructuring of its 14th annual event. Previously known as the Aviation Industry Expo, the new ‘Cygnus Aviation Expo’ will include program enhancements such as a new full-day training class for mechanics, a menu of industry-relevant seminars, and the participation of 250+ aviation industry vendors. Hallmarked as a comprehensive event, it is designed to create an enhanced attendee and exhibitor experience. The event will take place February 23-25, 2011 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The Cygnus Aviation marketing strategy is intended to ensure a product/market match between exhibitors and attendees. “This action is not simply a name change.” states Charla Sheffield, VP of Marketing, “It signals our continued investment and confidence in the aviation industry’s ability to recover from economic pressures. We believe the worst is over and will use our trade show, education programming, and networking opportunities to showcase the revitalization.”

Educational opportunities will focus on the maintenance and ground support industry segments. Added for 2011 is a full-day management program for supervisors promoted from the shop floor. A heightened emphasis is also being placed on the Cygnus partnership with AMTSociety, which will feature the popular Maintenance Skills Competition. The program also again hosts the annual Ground Support Leader of the Year Awards, hosted by Ground Support Worldwide magazine.
