BizJet International Delivers Second BBJ to Boeing's Corporate Flight Department

BizJet International, Lufthansa Technik's hundred percent US subsidiary, has delivered on time the second Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) to its possessor, Boeing's Corporate Flight Department. Before, the aircraft ran through a complex program at BizJet, including major maintenance checks and refurbishments. A first BBJ owned by the US aircraft manufacturer had already been completed and delivered in the second quarter of 2010.

BizJet's work package included periodic inspections and the clearance of findings, the removal and re-installation of the complete cabin, several interior modifications, the installation and update of electronic equipment and the performance of over 50 service bulletins and service letters.

Michael G. Wuebbling, Senior Manager of Maintenance in Boeing's Corporate Flight department, commented: "We are very satisfied with the results BizJet has provided for both aircraft. They showed great responsiveness and flexibility and delivered a high quality work over the past months."

Walter Heerdt, Senior Vice President Marketing & Sales at Lufthansa Technik, pointed out: "Within two years after we set up BizJet as a completion center for single-aisle aircraft the company has demonstrated in an impressive way its broad capabilities to deal with the special challenges in the very individual and extremely quality oriented VIP business. BizJet has become a high valuable member in the Lufthansa Technik VIP business network."

Kai Roepke, President and CEO of BizJet International said: "We are very proud that we had the opportunity to work on such prestigious aircraft like the Boeing owned BBJs and that we achieved the expectations of our customer. This project has been a very important step to establish BizJet as an acknowledged maintenance and refurbishment center for Boeing Business Jets in the US-Market."

In the past years, BizJet invested about three million USD in the expansion of its infrastructure, including the extension of shops, acquisition of new machines and employee training. With more than 200 employees, BizJet offers the complete spectrum of MRO services for VIP and business aircraft, such as Airbus ACJ and Boeing BBJ, plus comprehensive fixed base operator services. Beside its completion capabilities, the company's portfolio also includes modernization and refurbishment of cabin interiors in the second life market. BizJet has a total of 350,000 square feet of hangar capacity and a variety of workshops for servicing and outfitting aircraft.
