Pratt & Whitney Canada Offers Unique Program for PT6A Operators: PT6A CHOICE Service Plan
By enrolling in the PT6A CHOICE Service Plan, a PT6A operator pays half of the standard hourly rate per hour flown.
ATLANTA, GEORGIA -- (Marketwire - Oct. 19, 2010) - NBAA - A unique engine service plan offering enhanced cost predictability is now available to operators of PT6A engines in corporate service: the new PT6A CHOICE. Raffaele Virgili, Vice President, Customer Service, made the announcement at a media briefing held during the National Business Aviation Association's 63rd annual meeting and convention (NBAA) in Atlanta, Georgia. P&WC is a United Technologies Corp. company (NYSE: UTX).
This program has been designed for the specific needs of the PT6A engine operator and the maturity, reliability and modular design of the PT6A engine. It aligns engine service plan payments with program benefits received during the expected term of aircraft ownership. The operator pays a reduced hourly rate for full program benefits up to the scheduled overhaul event. At the overhaul event, the remaining balance of PT6A CHOICE Service Plan payments results in a guaranteed engine overhaul price.
"By enrolling in the PT6A CHOICE Service Plan, a PT6A operator pays half of the standard hourly rate per hour flown," said Virgili. "And when the engine comes in for a scheduled overhaul, the cost is both predictable and guaranteed, based on the hourly rate in effect at the time of payment."
The PT6A CHOICE Service Plan offers PT6A operators a new and innovative way to benefit from that coverage while paying less upfront per hour flown. Basic coverage includes scheduled engine overhaul/refurbishment/hot section inspection; basic unscheduled engine and line replaceable unit (LRU)/accessory maintenance; and required product support improvements at shop visits. Additional, coverage options are available. A PT6A CHOICE Service Plan enrolment in good standing is fully transferable upon aircraft sale.
Through an early enrolment discount, eligible operators of new PT6A engines will pay only 20 per cent to 30 per cent of the standard hourly rate during the first 1,000 hours (total time).
In addition to the most advanced engine technology available, Pratt & Whitney Canada brings world-class customer service and support backed by a global network of maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities and field support representatives (FSR). P&WC boasts a worldwide network of more than 100 FSRs, distribution centres in key locations around the world and more than 80 mobile repair technicians; a broad pool of rental and exchange engines; a customized Fleet Management Program (FMP(R)) and Eagle Service Plan (ESP(R) Program); a most comprehensive warranty coverage; as well as an extensive Service Centre Network with more than 30 company-owned and designated facilities around the world.
