LINCOLN, NEB. — Duncan Aviation will complete more than 100 High-Speed Data (HSD) system installations in 2010, and has developed an HSD selection tool to assist operators with system options. With service center and dealer agreements with all of the major manufacturers and increasing demand for HSD products, Duncan Aviation intends to remain the industry leader in after-market HSD solutions.

In addition to the large volume of HSD systems, Duncan Aviation holds Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for the installation of Gogo Biz™ with Wi-Fi capability in the Challenger 300, Citation 750, Citation 680 and Falcon 900EX EASy. These Wi-Fi certifications allow for wireless capability in the cabin. Without the Wi-Fi STC, the FAA requires all devices to use a cable to access HSD functionality.

“This activity is due to the high demand for High Speed Data Systems in general and Aircell’s Gogo Biz system in particular,” said Steve Elofson, Manager of Avionics Installations Sales for Duncan Aviation. “It is understandable why so many operators want high-speed inflight connectivity in the cabin. Increasingly, passengers expect to be able to use their laptops, BlackBerrys, iPhones and other Wi-Fi devices while traveling to stay productive. Installing the Aircell system with Wi-Fi certification will allow passengers to experience wireless connection speeds of 1-3 Mbps, providing an experience similar to that of ground-based Wi-Fi connections.”

Duncan Aviation’s HSD selection tool recommends system options based on a short series of questions about operational requirements. To use to tool, please visit www.DuncanAviation.aero/broadband.
