The Regional Airline Association (RAA) has appointed Constance “Connie” Arnold as its Director-Safety & Technical Affairs. With a wealth of aviation and regulatory experience, Arnold joins RAA from the Technical Operations group at US Airways in Phoenix, where she spent four years holding several key safety, environmental and regulatory compliance roles. In addition, Arnold was employed by the City of Phoenix for several years working as an environmental quality specialist and safety analyst.

She is a multi-engine, instrument-rated commercial pilot and CFI, an Arizona State graduate with a Master of Safety Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and past president of the Arizona Governmental Safety Association. A former resident of the DC metro area, Arnold is married with two college-aged sons.

“Connie’s varied experience will be highly valuable to our member airlines as she assumes many of the safety and aircraft-related regulatory responsibilities conducted by Dave Lotterer, who retired from RAA last December and who has been assisting us throughout this very busy and challenging year,” said RAA President Roger Cohen.

Among her responsibilities, Arnold will help support RAA’s Safety Council and work with RAA Vice President Scott Foose on the whole range of rulemaking and regulatory initiatives stemming from HR 5900, the FAA’s Call to Action and RAA’s Strategic Safety Initiative (SSI).
