Victoria, British Columbia, October 25, 2010 -- Latitude Technologies Corp. of Victoria, BC, has been awarded the contract to supply up to 95 of its SkyNode® S200 satellite communication systems for the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND) CH-146 Griffon helicopter fleet. The contract is the result of Latitude’s diligent work over the years to develop the most advanced and rugged satcom products and base station software commercially available.
SkyNode® satcom systems are already field proven on Aerial fire attack, SAR, EMS and Law Enforcement tactical operations worldwide. Latitude will supply the Canadian Forces with a complete end-to-end secure voice and robust data communication solution that will be operational everywhere and under all conceivable environmental extremes ranging from -45° C to +70° C temperatures.
Besides its durability, Latitude’s SkyNode® equipment and the Sentinel™ software management system were chosen due to their built-in safety functions, small form factor, and amazing versatility including real-time flight monitoring, auto alerts, voice calling, multiplatform messaging, data distribution, and remote configurability.
