NATA AMT Awards Deadline is January 30, 2011
The NATA AMT Employer Award program is open to any full-time aircraft, components maintenance, or repair business or Part 91, 121, 125, 127, 129,133, 135, 137, 141, 145, or 147 entity that conducts aviation maintenance.
Alexandria, VA, December 7, 2010 - The submission deadline for maintenance organizations to participate in the National Air Transportation Association's (NATA) new Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Employer Award program is fast approaching. Applications to be considered for an award are due no later than January 30, 2011.
Each spring, NATA awards several distinguished service and honorary awards to individuals and organizations that positively contributed to the general aviation industry. In 2011, NATA will also show its profound appreciation to those maintenance organizations that have made a strong commitment to the training of their AMTs.
The NATA AMT Employer Award program is open to any full-time aircraft, components maintenance, or repair business or Part 91, 121, 125, 127, 129,133, 135, 137, 141, 145, or 147 entity that conducts aviation maintenance. The AMT Employer Recognition Program awards aviation maintenance organizations that encourage and support aviation maintenance technician training. The award complements the FAA's Aviation Maintenance Technician Award, while providing an easier application process. The NATA award is based on the percentage of AMTs employed (directly or indirectly) by a maintenance organization who participate in qualified training events. An AMT must complete at least 12 hours of training each year to be counted towards the organization's award percentage.
"To show how much you value the safety and maintenance of your fleet and the people who make it work, we strongly encourage your organization to participate," said NATA President James K. Coyne. "With your commitment, we can ensure that this program will be a success for many years to come."

The application and list of qualified training/technicians may be submitted via fax to 703-845-8176 or completed and submitted online by e-mail to dvandelaar@nata.aero.
