Granbury, Texas - December 7, 2010 - Plane Power Partners, Ltd. announced today the availability of its latest FAA-PMA approved lightweight alternator kit. The newest alternator in Plane-Power's extensive line of PMA replacement alternators, the AL24-FS60, is approved for installation on most 360 and 540 series Lycoming engines on 28 volt Cessna 172 and 182 aircraft with multigroove belt/pulley drive systems.
The newest Plane-Power alternator provides owners of recent era (1996-current) Cessna 172R, 172S and 182S, 182T & T182T aircraft a vastly improved source of electrical power for their Lycoming engine-powered aircraft. The Plane-Power AL24-FS60 alternator runs cooler, produces more output, offers significantly higher reliability and produces cleaner, more consistent power than heavyweight and often rebuilt OE alternators.
The Plane-Power AL24-FS60 is capable of producing in excess of 70 amps continuously and replaces the OE Ford, 60 amp alternator in Cessna aircraft with multigroove, belt-driven alternators. The FAA PMA permits use of all 70 Amps of output if the aircraft electrical system is suitably modified to take advantage of the additional output the Plane-Power unit can provide.
Every AL24-FS60 PMA alternator kit includes Plane-Power's proven 70 amp lightweight alternator along with all required mounting brackets and hardware. Since the kit is FAA PMA certified as a replacement part, no STC paperwork is needed for a simple, trouble-free installation.
Each alternator is precision balanced and features far tighter component tolerances, and significantly reduced vibration, which greatly extends service life. Plane-Power alternators also feature proprietary dual cooling fans allowing the Plane-Power units to run at significantly lower temperatures than heavyweight OE alternators. All Plane-Power alternators feature built-in noise filtration. Over-voltage protection is a standard feature of all Plane-Power PowerFlex Regulators.
"All Plane-Power alternator kits are specifically designed for aircraft. Compared to their OE predecessors, Plane-Power alternators run cooler, perform far more reliably and supply increased power at or below typical cruise engine RPM," explains Plane-Power General Manager, Damon Berry. "We are so confident in our alternators and voltage regulators, that Plane Power supports each one with a generous two-year warranty."
The Plane-Power AL24-FS60 FAA PMA Replacement Alternator kit extends Plane Power, Ltd's successful line of belt-driven FAA PMA certified alternators for Lycoming and Continental engine applications. Plane Power Alternators have come to be the industry's most popular PMA replacement alternators and regulators for general aviation aircraft.
